The Australian Kendo Renmei is ver happy to announce that Mr. Andrew van Hamond of Sydney, New South Wales, has been awarded Life Membership of the Australian Kendo Renmei.
Andrew has been not only a prominent kendo player and pursued his development of kendo, but also has been and remains a generous and dedicated supporter of our club, state and national organisations.
Andrew is Rokudan kendo (6 Dan), was a multiple term President of the Sydney Club; a multiple term President of the New South Wales Kendo Association and is now into his second term as President of the Australian Kendo Renmei.
Andrew has worked diligently to represent the best interests and the promotion of AKR/F members for many years, both in Australia and in Japan, with the AJKF. He has facilitated many good successes. He has also worked to maintain sound, fair and transparent governance processes for the benefit of all members.
Accordingly, the Board are happy to appoint Andrew as an AKR Life Member.
