In the last two weeks 6 of our members, Mio Tardy (2D), Jack Dye (4D), Alex Paukovits (4D), Anna Opertowski-Marshall (4D), Kaori Langley (4D) , Tomoe Kawami (5D) met in Japan to join some Kendo events.
The first weekend we joined Otsuhai in Okayama which was an all women’s competition held at Miyamoto Musashi Budokan. It was such a beautifully organised event highlighting the incredible kendo abilities of women across Japan of all ages!
During our last weekend in Japan, we met up in Tokyo to compete in the 22nd International Tournament organised by the International Goodwill Kendo club. There were individual competitors and teams from America, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Sweden! It was such a great opportunity to connect with other Kendoka across the world and another incredibly organised event!
Our members competed in the Individual 5 Dan and under Women’s tournament in Tokyo where Tomoe Kawami placed 3rd! Alex Paukovits placed 2nd in this event!
Such a great effort from all our members and we can’t wait to continue working hard for our next upcoming events.
