The Oceania Women’s Seminar and Taikai is an event to foster the development of women’s kendo in the Oceania region.
Over the weekend of 14-15 June 2025, we received over 50 women Kenshi from all over Australia and New Zealand.
With a large amount of Kendo experience and knowledge, we were able to learn more about how to wear kendogi, hakama and bogu to suit our body types, to the latest research by Akiyo Yamaguchi Ellin sensei (NZ) on the relationship between Kamae and Defence.
We also put out Kendo skills to the test through keiko with many Sensei and each other.
