AKR Kendo Board Chairman, Khay-Lin Teoh has announced the appointment of the team consisting of Brett Smith (Coach), Yuji Sano (Asst. Coach) and James Sarretta (Manager) to prepare the Australian Kendo Team for the 15th World Kendo Championships in Italy 2012. This continues the efforts of the coaching team which produced the most impressive results of the Australian Kendo Team at the last WKC in Brazil.
As many of you will know, Brett and Yuji bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles both as competitors and coaches at the WKC. This will be backed up with the considerable management and organisational skills of James which previously allowed each of the competitors to concentrate on their game without the distractions of logistics, accommodation, attendance of meetings and the like.
On behalf of the Kendo Board, I wish Brett, Yuji and James all the best in their roles in preparing the Australian Kendo Team to be drawn from Australian Kendo Squad. Please look out for further announcements on the formation of the Australian Kendo Squad.
