The AKR and QKR are excited to announce that registration for the 48th Australian Kendo Championships is now open.

Registration for the following is available:

  • Competitors
  • State / Territory Team Managers and Coaches
  • Shinpan
  • Championship Dinner (Saturday)
  • Seminar (Monday)
  • Lunch on Saturday and/or Sunday (not required if you are staying onsite or on Shinpan duties)
  • Event T-shirt purchase.

Key dates:

  • Registration for Competitors, Coaches/Team Managers Shinpan and Event T-shirt orders closes 28 February 2026.
  • Seminar, Championship Dinner, and competition day lunches close 15 March 2026.

Please read the following carefully before registering:

Competitors

  • Only competitors who register via the official registration page will be permitted to compete.
  • Individual Events:
    • Please complete your registration only after receiving confirmation from your Team Manager that you have secured a place.
    • Each State/Territory is allocated six (6) places per individual event. If your State/Territory has more than six eligible competitors, you may not have been allocated a spot.
    • If you register as an Individual competitor, you will automatically be eligible to compete in a Team event (if selected).
  • Team Events only (e.g. Dan/Kyu Teams and/or Kata Teams):
    • Please register via the main page and select the “Competitor – Team only competitor” ticket option.
  • Lunch is included with onsite accommodation. If you are not staying onsite, you may wish to purchase lunch for Saturday and/or Sunday.

State/Territory Coaches and Team Managers

  • Please register via the main page and select the “Managers / Coaches registration” ticket option.
  • If you are not staying in onsite accommodation (where lunch is included), you may wish to purchase lunch for Saturday and/or Sunday.

Shinpan

  • Please register and select the free “Shinpan registration” ticket option.
  • If you have not already done so, please complete the Shinpan EOI form to advise the Kendo Board of your availability:

  • Lunch will be provided on the day(s) you officiate. If you are staying in onsite accommodation, any lunch fees included in your accommodation will be refunded by the QKR.
