{"id":7416,"date":"2026-05-13T01:47:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T14:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/content\/?p=7416"},"modified":"2026-05-13T01:47:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T14:47:21","slug":"2026-junior-australian-kendo-championships-shinpan-eoi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/content\/?p=7416","title":{"rendered":"2026 Junior Australian Kendo Championships &#8211; Shinpan EOI"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Dear Australian Kendo Community,<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Kendo Federation (AKF), in partnership with the New South Wales Kendo Association (NSWKA), is excited to host the inaugural <b>Junior Australian Kendo Championships (Junior AKC)<\/b> on the weekend of <b>4-5 July 2026 at Newington College, Sydney<\/b>.\u00a0 We are very much looking forward to this opportunity to provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for young Kendoka of our community to compete, challenge themselves, learn from others, and build friendships across borders.<\/p>\n<p>As we prepare for this important milestone event, the Kendo Committee is seeking Expression of Interest from all Kendo members who hold <b>4th Dan and above<\/b> to join us as Shinpan at the Junior AKC. Your experience, judgement and leadership are vital in helping us create a safe, fair and positive competitive environment for our junior Kendoka.<\/div>\n<div>\nIf you are able to help at the Junior AKC as a Shinpan, we kindly ask the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Availability<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Preference is for Shinpan to be available across both Competition Days (4-5 July 2026).<\/li>\n<li>If you are only available for part of the weekend, please indicate this in your response; we will do our best to accommodate your availability where possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Briefings<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Attendance at the Shinpan briefing on the morning of each Competition Day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Responsibilities<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out Shinpan duties in accordance with the Junior AKC Competition Rules (to be released), which will be aligned with AKR and FIK shiai regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from undertaking Coaching or Team Manager roles during the Competition to maintain clear separation of duties.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange your own travel and accommodation for the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Registration &amp; Compliance<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit your EOI by completing the following Google Form: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/hQwdbktu75hfx5aY7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/forms.gle\/hQwdbktu75hfx5aY7&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1778683568930000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3LUfQ_y7ZfEpDgzayZPF_t\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/<wbr \/>hQwdbktu75hfx5aY7<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Complete the following courses on the AKR Learning Centre (AKRLC):\n<ul>\n<li>Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction (<a href=\"https:\/\/learning.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/view.php?id=1478\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/learning.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/view.php?id%3D1478&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1778683568930000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2iWBhIHfS6RKk1DDFHqGgo\">https:\/\/learning.<wbr \/>kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/<wbr \/>view.php?id=1478<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>PBTR \u2013 Harassment and Discrimination (<a href=\"https:\/\/learning.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/view.php?id=91\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/learning.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/view.php?id%3D91&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1778683568930000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0pBPZHeKhr6MnHv9jQlnGE\">https:\/\/learning.<wbr \/>kendoaustralia.asn.au\/course\/<wbr \/>view.php?id=91<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b><i>If you have completed these courses <u>outside of the <\/u><u>AKRLC<\/u>, please complete these courses again in the AKRLC\u00a0so your course completions are registered in the system.<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You will need to have a current and valid <b>Working with Children Check<\/b>, or the equivalent conducted and issued by your State\/Territory.
