{"id":4326,"date":"2018-01-30T16:50:10","date_gmt":"2018-01-30T05:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/content\/?p=4326"},"modified":"2020-03-11T19:58:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T08:58:57","slug":"nominations-for-election-to-the-akr-kendo-board-2018-2021-are-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kendoaustralia.asn.au\/content\/?p=4326","title":{"rendered":"Nominations for election to the AKR Kendo Board, 2018-2021 are now open!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear AKR Kendo Members,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kendo Board Election<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Complying with section 8.2 of the AKR Constitution, 2018 is a Kendo Board election year.<\/p>\n<p>All Kendo Board positions will be vacated and handed over at the conclusion of the 43rd AKC and related events on 4 April 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Existing and former members may be nominated for the election.<\/p>\n<p>The form to use to nominate candidates, for the election is available from your club\/dojo or your state\/territory association.<\/p>\n<p>The AKR Kendo Board is made up of 5 members from that art.\u00a0 Elected Board positions are for a three year term. Tasks include facilitating, attending and contributing to the management of AKR kendo seminars, championships and dan grade exams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All Ordinary Affiliate Members who are members of an Affiliated Body representing Kendo exponents are eligible for election to the Kendo Board. Self-nomination is permitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nominations\u00a0must have a seconder\u00a0and the acceptance of the member being nominated.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations must be\u00a0received no later than 5:00 pm on 23 February 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The election to fill the vacancies will be conducted by postal vote in mid March 2018.
