1. Re-accreditation requirements for Instructors who were previously recorded by AKR as Accredited by the ASC/NCAS * or are currently accredited AKR Instructors.
- Be an ordinary affiliate member (over 18 yo) or a life member of the AKR;
- Provide a signed copy of the AKR INSTRUCTORS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR AGREEMENT PDF and read the AKR Safety Document PDF;
*Note – those instructors who were previously recorded by AKR as being accredited by the ASC/NCAS, have an ASC/NCAS number shown on our lists and possess an ASC/NCAS certificate. If you are not on the Instructors list, please ensure that you have previously sent all the required documents; prior to making contact.
2. Accreditation requirements for new AKR Kendo, Iaido or Jodo Level O Instructors.
(For instructors who were NOT previously recorded by AKR as being accredited by the ASC/NCAS.)
- Be an ordinary affiliate member (over 18 yo) or a life member of the AKR;
- Provide a signed copy of the AKR INSTRUCTORS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR AGREEMENT PDF; read the AKR Safety Document PDF;
- Provide proof of being assessed as successfully completing the Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching General Principles Course or equivalent, or higher sport coaching related course. **

To apply for re-accreditation or a new accreditation, please provide all the above listed items, appropriate to the level applied for, to the AKR Accreditation Coordinator.

* * Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and recognition of current competency (RCC) apply. Instructors seeking accreditation with RPL/RCC should provide evidence of successful completion of relevant courses.
++ Note. Level 1,2 or 3 instructors for any of Kendo, Iaido and Jodo may apply to be also accredited as at Level 0 for any of Kendo, Iaido and Jodo. Eg. a Kendo Level 2 instructor may also be accredited as a Level 0 Instructor for Iaido or Jodo.
