10 March 2009 AKR KENDO BOARD ELECTION. The Kendo Board (a committee of the AKR) are resposible for promotion and and facilitation of the study of Kendo in Australia. The Board consists of five members elected at a National AGM, usually held to co-incide with the Australian Kendo Championships. 2009 KENDO BOARD ELECTION VOTING For 2009, the election will be conducted prior to the AGM. Votes may be lodged by e-mail or post. Voting closes on 3rd April 2009. This method provides an equal opportunity for all members to vote, regardless of their attendance at the AGM. You must be a current registered kendo member of the AKR to be eligible to vote. 1-2. Each eligible member is entitled to one vote. 2. Voting 2-1. All voting will be conducted using the 2009 Kendo Board Election Voting Form. Excel. PDF. 2-2. You are asked to choose five candidates from the list of nominees to form the Kendo Board (one Chairperson and four members) that you wish to see elected, and show this clearly on the voting form. Nominee list. Excel. PDF. 2-3. There are two candidates who have indicated that they would be willing to accept the role of Chairperson. 2-4. After selecting a candidate for the Chairperson, please take care not to accidentally repeat the same name as one of your selections for the members. 2-5. The names are listed in alphabetical order on the voting form, and please understand that the order in which you select the candidates will not affect the tallying process. 2-6. Please remember to include your AKR membership number in the space provided in order to validate your vote and expedite collating. 2-7. If you do not remember your membership number, then please include your name, club and state details. 3. Lodging your vote 3-1. Voting closes on 3rd April 2009, so please be sure to lodge your vote prior to this date for it to be valid. 3-2. The preferred method for lodging your vote is to send your completed voting form as an attachment to an email to: YSano@toyo.com.au 3-3. If you do not have email access, one suggestion would be to ask a fellow club member or someone with email access to send it on your behalf. (However, in such a case, please be sure that you somehow indicate that you have truly asked this person to send it for you.) 3-4. If this is also not possible, please be assured that voting forms sent by Australia Post will also be accepted, but please allow ample time for it to arrive prior to the closing date (3rd April) and for confirmation to be made.
